Railway Place Train Spotting Platform

This delightful project provides a facility to watch the VicRail trains coming into southern Cross Station. The project was the product of collaboration with community artist Bernice MacPherson for the City of Melbourne. The project references a railway aesthetic, and recycles railway track, train wheels, and a signal tower off the Caulfield Line. The project was opened by Michael Leunig and was subsequently awarded the inaugural Melbourne City Council Urban Design Award.
